Add volume, depth and texture to the room
Zoover pretends to be heavy seen its size, nevertheless it looks very lightweight when hung into the room. Designed as a shallow dome, Zoover has multiple different looks depending on the point of view. Looking at it from aside, the thermoformed shell has a very neutral appearance. Only when lowering the viewpoint, more and more details catch the eye, as the light illuminates the inner textures of the scallop.
Zoover can be used for general lighting, with soft diffused light inside its dome, or to create a more cosy atmosphere, by hiding away 4 spotlights under its shell to create various accents inside the room. Available in two sizes and two colours for the shade, Zoover adds volume, depth and texture to the room. Furthermore, the PETfelt used to create the Zoover dome helps to reduce unwanted noise inside the room, with better acoustics as result.

Zoover can contribute to the acoustics inside a space thanks to the sound-absorbent qualities of the PET-felt in its dome.
Laboratory tested acoustic qualities
The sound-absorbing qualities of Zoover are tested in a certified facility, a reverberation room, equipped with microphones and sound sources. The tests are run according to the EN ISO354:2003 norm. Please consult the Zoover sound lab reports for more technical details.
What is reverberation time?
Reverberation occurs when sound waves are reflected from hard surfaces, such as ceilings, walls and windows, which can cause echoes and sound distortion. It is one of the main factors when evaluating room acoustics.
Reverberation time is expressed in seconds. An empty space will easily have a reverberation time of over 3 seconds, an uncomfortable acoustic situation. For comfortable room acoustics, recommendations depend on the function of the room. As a general guideline, a value of 1 second or less is desired.
How can Zoover contribute? An example
Imagine an office space of 6 by 6 and 3 m high, with 3 plastered walls, 1 glass wall, a plastered ceiling and a concrete floor.
In its empty state, this theoretical space will deliver a reverberation time of 2.39 seconds, an uncomfortable acoustic situation. By adding 6 Zoover luminaires of 120 cm, the reverberation time drops below 1 second to 0.97, for a comfortable acoustic environment.
